The right thing. The narrow path. God says, “this is the way, walk in it.” Isaiah 30:21; Matthew 7:13-14
The prophet Isaiah wrote the following words to the rebellious people of Judah, as God commanded…..
“Now go and write down these words. Write them in a book. They will stand until the end of time as a witness that these people are stubborn rebels who refuse to pay attention to the Lord’s instructions. They tell the seers, “Stop seeing visions!” They tell the prophets, “Don’t tell us what is right. Tell us nice things. Tell us lies. Forget all this gloom. Get off your narrow path. Stop telling us about your ‘Holy One of Israel.’””Isaiah30:8-11NLT
No one knows the day or the time when our Lord will return. But He will return.
Will we believe that we can trust the ‘Holy One of ISRAEL’ with our lives, and the lives of those we love; or will we continue to depend on everyone who “walks according to the imagination of his own heart.” Jeremiah 23:17
Will we commit our bodies and souls to His loving care, and die daily to self; or continue to hoard our best selves and feast on the selfish human desires with which we were born?
Romans 8:1-2 says, “There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death.”
Persecution may come. Trials to undermine your “faith-walk” may try to trip you up, but learn from the words of the Apostle Peter who denied his Jesus three times:
“Stay alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour. Stand firm against him, and be strong in your faith. Remember that your family of believers all over the world is going through the same kind of suffering you are. In his kindness God called you to share in his eternal glory by means of Christ Jesus. So after you have suffered a little while, he will restore, support, and strengthen you, and he will place you on a firm foundation. All power to him forever! Amen.”1 Peter5:8-11NLT
